PRINCE GEORGE – The Prince George Spruce Kings stole the show as they took four of the six available awards from the Chilliwack pod, handed out by the BC Hockey League.

Christian Buono and Aaron Trotter were the stars of the show as they combined for three awards.

Buono was the recipient of the pod’s MVP award after finishing the season with 27 points in just 20 games. His 27 points led the pod, which gave him the Top Scorer award as well. For Buono, it was his final BCHL season, one that he made the most of by winning the championship with his Spruce kings as well as adding some individual hardware to his collection.

Trotter, who played his first season with the Spruce Kings this year, took off in a hurry, winning the pod’s Top Goaltender award by posting a 7-3-1 record, with a save percentage of .934 and a goals against average of 1.63. Because of those outstanding numbers, Trotter also earned himself the Spruce Kings Rookie of the Year award.

The Spruce Kings also announced a collection of different awards for their team and their season in the Chilliwack pod. Among the multiple awards and award winners were first year players John Herrington and Nick Rheaume for Most Improved, veterans Andrew Seaman and Kolton Cousins for Most Dedicated and Colton Cameron who won his second consecutive plus/minus award as well as finishing tied for first in the Fortis BC energy player standings with four wins.
