PRINCE GEORGE – Artist Larry Merritt has been painting images of historic buildings around the city in hopes of capturing the building’s charm and memories.

Merritt has painted a picture every day since the start of the pandemic. For over 70 years, Merritt has lived in Prince George.

All of that time has now turned into inspiration every time he goes walking downtown. Every visit to the downtown brings back memories, and now, it also brings the inspiration to paint.

Merritt posted some of his historic building paintings on social media and quickly learned many people share the same memories.

The PG painter plans to continue putting colour on his canvas to keep the memories alive in his mind and others of all the historic buildings around the city.

You can see all of Larry Merritt’s 330 pieces of local historical art images he has created during the pandemic on his Facebook page.
