PRINCE GEORGE – The past two years have been filled with uncertainty, however, you can count on one thing for sure! The annual David Douglas Botanical plant sale.

The birds are chirping and well, the sun is trying to shine on the ladies of the Botanical garden, as they prepare for their annual sale this coming Sunday (June 20 ). This particular sale usually happens earlier in the season, but, because of Covid, they have had to break it up into 3 sections. Birthe Miller, who is the Communications and Marketing manager for the garden, says they are excited to welcome folks in while following Covid-19 guidelines.

” This Sunday, which is also Fathers day and solstice, we are having an in-person plant sale, up at our compound at UNBC,” she said. “We will be limiting the number of people that are in so that we can still have social distancing within the compound. And, you’ll still have to wear a mask.”

All proceeds go towards the care and maintenance of the garden and centre. The ladies also mentioned, that this year they will have a large selection of house plants. Oh, and there are only about 100 tomato plants left.

If your green thumb is itching for some cool and unusual plants the annual sale begins on Sunday, from 10 am to 2 pm at the David Douglas Botanical Garden.
