PRINCE GEORGE – The Multicultural Heritage Society of Prince George has come to a tough decision again for Canada Day this year.

Due to the pandemic, Prince George folks won’t be able to celebrate at Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park on Canada Day again this year, which is extremely disappointing for organizers.

” Last year was the first year, in 47 years, that we had to cancel the event,” said Marlies Greulich, executive director for the Multicultural Heritage Society

Greulich says, it was a difficult decision, but this event is meant to host more than 50 people.

” Our festival caters to 10 to 12 thousand people. For us to do anything for 50 people, just isn’t feasible.”

Greulich hopes that next year will be a different story and we can all celebrate together.
