Care home residents returning to 100 Mile House

100 MILE HOUSE – Interior Health has begun returning care home residents to the District of 100 Mile House.
The comes after 100 Mile House rescinded its evacuation alert in response to the Flat Lake wildfire.
Over the coming days, Interior Health will transport 124 residents who had been evacuated back to 100 Mile House from Merritt, Kamloops, Salmon Arm, and Williams Lake. Repatriation will occur gradually to ensure appropriate staffing and resources are in place when residents return home. Families will be notified directly as their loved ones are moved back.
The 100 Mile District General Hospital was not evacuated due to the wildfire.
