Logan Lake evacuation order lifted, residents to return home
LOGAN LAKE, B.C. — One week after residents were forced to flee a raging wildfire, the people of Logan Lake are on their way home.
The district’s website says the evacuation order put in place Aug. 12 is rescinded as of 12:00 noon Thursday (Aug. 19).
The community was evacuated last Thursday when the Tremont Creek wildfire crept dangerously close to the northern boundary of the community.
Since then, firefighters — as well as the community’s FireSmart preparedness measures — have been working hard to keep structures safe.
