An improved picture on the PG wildfire front

Crews continue to get the upper hand on wildfires in the PG Centre

PRINCE GEORGE- The Cutoff Creek fire in the PG Fire Centre is now classified as being held ,after being out of control since early July . 80 firefighters, 3 helicopters, and 4 pieces of heavy equipment are on site today.

Crews are working on building heli-pads for access to the north finger of the fire, working along the guard from East Swanson Road to Crystal Lake, and are completing mop up on the south side of Bobtail Road, as well as working hotspots along the north side of Bobtail Road and along Swanson Creek.

The PG Fire Centre is continuing to see a downturn in fire activity in terms of new starts ,with only 3 in the past week ,which have since been extinguished.
