Why are you running for office?

I just want to raise my family and have a simple life in a country that is free.  It seems to me that there is a complete absence of common sense in parliament these days, and the increased government overreach will affect the next generation even more than it affects us today. I am running for office because I have zero confidence that any other party running in this election will work towards restoring freedom in this nation. The only hope I see for Canada is a party that embraces common sense, which is why I am proud to run for the PPC.

How does your party plan to address the issue of climate change?

The People’s Party of Canada rejects the climate alarmism that has been like a runaway train in recent years. We believe in taking practical steps to increase the health of our ecosystems and the people who live within them. One of our key climate goals, is to work toward cleaner air, soil, and water. This includes bringing clean drinking water to Indigenous communities that have struggled with an unacceptable lack of access to clean water for years.

How would you address the challenges facing some Aboriginal communities across our region?

Our party is committed to the idea that all Canadians deserve to be treated with fairness. If elected, I would be honoured to meet with our Indigenous communities to hear about their specific needs and work towards implementing solutions that are right for them.

What’s your stance on the development of pipelines?

Pipelines not only provide a clean, efficient way to move natural resources, but they also provide a sustainability to the oil and gas industry that cannot be matched by international trade. In our area, supporting pipelines is not only important for the greater good of Canada, but also for providing jobs and an economic stability and prosperity for our region.

How high a priority is affordable child care for your party? What’s your party’s pitch?

These government subsidies cost all Canadians due to the fact that the funds used for the programs must be collected through taxes. While large cities may see a substantial increase in affordable child care spaces under such a program, the smaller municipalities in our region would certainly not see the same benefit. The PPC strongly supports the idea of LESS government involvement in most every are of the economy, including this one.

What’s your party’s stance on vaccinations? Should they be mandatory?

The People’s Party of Canada has been clear on their stance about vaccinations. Under no circumstances do we believe that any medical procedure should be mandatory to participate in our society. We believe that mandatory vaccinations and vaccination passports are an infringement on our rights as Canadians.

What would you do to help seniors?

Seniors in our region often have long wait times to get into care facilities, and the difficulty of staffing these facilities is an ongoing challenge. These challenges are often amplified for our seniors as our minimum wage continues to climb and costs of care increase. I would be a voice for fair and equal treatment of seniors in our society, respecting them for the contributions they have made. I would be honoured to hear how the Canada Pension Plan and Old Age Security benefits could be better adapted to their needs. These are complex issues, but I believe our seniors deserve to be heard, both at home and in Ottawa.

How would you address the opioid crisis?

One of the things that has driven this problem to an increased intensity in this last season has been the lockdowns that our communities have endured. Loss of jobs, increased tension at home, isolation and fear of the future all fuel dependency on substances of many kinds. We believe that ending lockdowns will help alleviate some of these problems, and pave the way for solutions that can be implemented on the front lines.

Where in the riding do you live? Why? What are your favourite places to spend time in?

I live just outside of Fort St. John. I love living here, and have been privileged to have been born and raised here. Hiking in Tumbler Ridge and hunting all over the Peace region are some of my favourite activities.

 Who’s your favourite singer/band?

I am enjoying Rodney Atkins these days.
