Prince George-Peace River-Northern Rockies re-elects Bob Zimmer

PRINCE GEORGE – As results trickle in, Bob Zimmer has taken the early lead of the Prince George-Peace River-Northern Rockies riding.

With 140 of the 225 polling stations reporting, the incumbent has over 54 per cent of the vote.

This electoral district was originally created back in 1966 from parts of the Cariboo and Kamloops ridings.

This riding has elected conservative candidates consistently since 1972 and has been held by Conservative Bob Zimmer since 2011.

Based on 2016 numbers, the riding has a population of 110,995. In the 2019 Federal Election, Zimmer was re-elected with 38,473 of the votes (70 per cent of eligible votes).
