RDFFG: ‘Get vaccinated’

PRINCE GEORGE — With no end in sight to the fourth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, the regional directors with the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George are throwing their support behind healthcare workers and encouraging everyone to get vaccinated.

A statement released this afternoon points out the important role healthcare workers have played since the pandemic started, calling them “super stars.”

“They have worked long hours in the most stressful conditions and have continued to give their all to provide care, support and compassion to the thousands of British Columbians who need hospital care.”

They also acknowledge that with rising COVID-19 case counts, “our hospitals are beyond capacity and healthcare workers are stretched to the limit.”

They note that getting fully vaccinated “would relieve considerable pressure on our hospitals and healthcare workers. The numbers speak for themselves. Getting vaccinated doesn’t just protect you. It protects our community and it helps ensure our healthcare facilities have the capacity to provide care to all who need it. It’s time for everyone to do their part and get vaccinated.”
