Cougars look for first win of season against Giants

LANGLEY – Tonight, is the first of 10 matchups between the Prince George Cougars and Vancouver Giants, two B.C. Division rivals.

It’s the first meeting since May 10th between the two teams that came in the B.C. Division Hub in Kamloops. In six games against Vancouver last season, Prince George went 4-1-0-1. Craig Armstrong led the Cougars in scoring last season against the Giants with six goals in six games.

Game Notes

  • Justin Sourdif led all Giants with four points (0-4-4) in six games last season against the Cougars.
  • Tonight, is the first meeting of the Regular Season between these two teams. They did meet in the Pre-Season and two Giants were given one-game suspensions in Kyle Bochek and Colton Langkow. Also, Head Coach Michael Dyck was suspended for one game. This after an altercation in the final minute of regulation on September 24th.
  • Swedish goaltender Jesper Vikman earned the first shutout for a Vancouver Giants on opening night, since Jamie Tucker shutout the Everett Silvertips on September 20th, 2008.
