Search on for assault suspect in Vanderhoof
VANDERHOOF — RCMP in Vanderhoof are seeking the public’s help in locating the person responsible for an assault last week.
North District RCMP Cpl. Madonna Saunderson says on October 7, a man was approached in the Co-Op Mall parking lot while sitting on a concrete barrier.
“A vehicle described as a blue or navy, possibly a 2010 GMC or Chev pickup stopped near the man,” she says. “There were three people in the vehicle. Two Indigenous women were in the front and an Indigenous man in the back seat. The man asked the victim a question, and when answered, the suspect bear sprayed the victim and fled the scene on Burrard Avenue toward Highway 16.”
Saunderson says the suspect did not know the people in the vehicle.
