PRINCE GEORGE – The 2021-22 season is underway and the Spruce Kings are enjoying a quick jump out of the gates with a 3-1 record. But while the season is still young, the front office for Prince George is busy looking towards the future as well.

On Monday, the Prince George Spruce Kings announced the commitment of F Brayden Skogstad (’05) for the 2022-23 season.

The 2005 born forward from Kelowna BC is currently playing at RINK Hockey Academy in Kelowna in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL).

“I couldn’t be happier about becoming a Spruce King next season”, said Skogstad. “Attending main camp and having the opportunity to play in a couple of pre-season games solidified the fact that this a great fit for a player like me! I’m excited for what is ahead.”

Skogstad suited up in a pair of exhibition games for the Spruce Kings in late September against the Merritt Centennials and the West Kelowna Warriors. Before joining RINK Academy, Skogstad spent the 2019-20 season with the Okanagan Rockets U15 club and finished with 14 goals and 28 assists in 30 games played.

“Brayden is an exceptional young man and an extremely hard-working player who is counted upon in every facet of the game,” said Assistant General Manager Craig Carter. “Brayden possesses a high-end skill set and hockey sense combined with his 200-foot game and he will be a great addition next fall.”
