PRINCE GEORGE– A common problem people have when Halloween ends is finding a good way to dispose of their pumpkins.

Many people decide to throw them out which could potentially attract bears. However, rather than putting them in the landfill, consider dropping them off at a local farm.

Ernie Marcellus helps feed the animals at Salmon Valley Farmstead. He takes care of many animals including chickens, sheep, pigs, bunnies, and even turkeys. The day after Halloween is an exciting time for them as he says all the animals love eating the leftover pumpkins. Marcellus says dropping off your pumpkin not only helps the animals but also the local farmers as well, as the cost of feed is skyrocketing.

From November 1st to 3rd, There are multiple farms you can support all around the city with all of them setting up a pumpkin bin outside their driveway for people to make the drop.

So if you have some leftover pumpkins and wanna support local, instead of throwing out your pumpkin this year, consider donating it and helping feed some adorable animals.
