IIO investigating incident on Langer Crescent

PRINCE GEORGE — The Independent Investigations Office (IIO) of BC is investigating an incident in Prince George.

Information provided by the impacted person, a man, indicates that on October 6, he was involved in an altercation with another man which reportedly included the display of a firearm.

At around 6 p.m., the man reported that he returned to his vehicle on Langer Crescent to find police present.

Following an altercation which included use of a police service dog, the man was arrested.

He reported suffering dog bite injuries while being taken into custody. Medical treatment was provided but he says the injuries later worsened requiring further medical treatment.
