Mackenzie mayor says health diversions are on the decline

MACKENZIE – In the community of Mackenzie, there has been a challenge with nursing staff coverage.

In, October Mackenzie saw six diversions in seven days. Diversions are necessary to ensure safe patient care and adequate relief for existing staff.

People looking for medical care during a diversion were directed to go to another community.

According to the mayor, the numbers of diversions are on the decline.
