Looking Ahead to This Year’s Remembrance Day Ceremony

Nov 8, 2021 | 1:28 PM

This week is Veteran’s Week, a time to honour those who have served our country and their sacrifice. John Scott from the Prince George Royal Canadian Legion Branch 43 joined us to run down how this year’s Remembrance Day ceremony will look a little different once again.

The Legion urges Prince George residents to remember from their homes, pausing for a moment of silence at 11 am on your balcony or front doorstep. The ceremony at the Prince George cenotaph is closed to the public. The ceremony will be broadcast on CKPG TV starting at 10:30 am and will include a reading of ‘In Flanders Fields’, laying of wreaths, and speeches from local dignitaries. If you wish to lay a poppy or wreath at the cenotaph, you may do so between 11:30 am and 1 pm on Thursday, November 11.
