PRINCE GEORGE — Mounties in Prince George are investigating two overnight shooting incidents.

The first occurred just after 2:30 a.m. on November 4 on the 6100 block of Poplar Place.

“When police arrived at the location, they found a vehicle with several bullet holes in it,” says Prince George RCMP Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.”Police spoke with witnesses who stated they saw an unfamiliar Dodge Ram truck in the area around the time they heard the gunshots, but it is unknown if this truck is related to the incident.”

She says a second, unrelated shooting incident occurred at 4:30 a.m. on the 220 block of Queensway later that morning.

“Police received a report of a disturbance at a residence , when frontline police arrived at the home, they found two people inside with minor gunshot wounds. The two victims were transported to hospital for treatment of their injuries. Investigators believe the suspect(s) were located outside the residence at the time of the shooting.”

Anyone with information about either of these residents is asked to call police.

“Investigators believe these incidents to be unrelated and that both were targeted events. We do not currently believe that there is any increased risk to the public. We are asking residents in these two areas to check their surveillance and dash cameras for any suspicious activity that may give police additional information in these two investigations.”
