Food shortage fears linger as some local restaurants grapple with interrupted supply chain
PRINCE GEORGE – As highways and roads from the Lower Mainland remain closed for a third full day, supply chains have become paralyzed.
Those supply chains are not only resulting in interruptions for grocery chains but have also been affecting restaurants and the hospitality industry.
“I think the biggest thing for us is just the unknown,” says Dan Connelly, Managing Partner of Earls Kitchen + Bar. “We place our order on a pretty regular routine, we prep, we create from scratch, and when you place an order and it doesn’t show up and your answer on when the next one becomes we don’t know yet, it’s difficult to deal with.”
