Snowfall warning issued for Prince George
PRINCE GEORGE- 10-20 cm of snow mixed with rain is expected to hit Prince George, prompting a snowfall warning for the area. Mackenzie, McLeod Lake, communities along and north of Highway 16 from Hazelton to Prince George including Vanderhoof, Burns Lake and Fort Fraser, Fort St. James, Granisle are all under this advisory.
Additionally, the Pine Pass has been issued a winter snow warning. Environment Canada says a series of low pressure systems crossing northern BC will produce a total of 20 to 30 cm of snow by Sunday morning. The first system is expected to bring heavy snow tonight (Friday) to Pine Pass and the Peace River District. Dawson Creek, Fort St. John, Chetwynd, Tumbler Ridge, Pouce Coupe, Hudson’s Hope, Sinclair Mills, Dome Creek could be impacted. The warning is expected to last until Sunday morning.
Residents are being advised to remain on the lookout for adverse weather conditions and take the necessary precautions. Environment Canada says to watch for updated statements.
