Bond finishes as Leader of Official Opposition
PRINCE GEORGE – Despite a very tumultuous fall sitting of the Legislature, there was a moment to lay praise for the Leader of the Official Opposition, Shirley Bond. Why? Because it was her last day in the Legislature as the Opposition Leader.
House Leader Peter Milobar launched into his speech by taking a jab at the length of the Liberal Leadership race. “The Leader for the Official Opposition from Prince George-Valemount has had an incredibly difficult task. This is our third session through a leadership race that is currently happening and, in fact, the race has been so long, Mr. Speaker, I think our current leader will be our second longest-serving leader by the time we get to that.”
Bond was elected Interim Liberal Leader a year ago by a party committee and the teasing came from both sides of the chamber.
