Kmec exceeding expectations since Day 1 with Cougars
PRINCE GEORGE – When the Prince George Cougars selected defenceman Viliam Kmec 104th overall in the 2021 CHL Import Draft, they really didn’t know what to expect from the 17-year-old Slovakian blue-liner.
“You don’t know a lot about your Euros when you bring them into the league, but he’s been excellent the whole year,” explained Cougars’ General Manager & Head Coach Mark Lamb. “He’s a great young player that fits into our defence very well.”
The 2004-born defenceman was recently named to Slovakia’s preliminary roster ahead of the 2022 World Junior Hockey Championship in Edmonton.
