Man arrested following drugs and weapons seizure in Mackenzie

MACKENZIE — A 38-year-old man was arrested in Mackenzie following a drugs and weapons bust.
North District RCMP say it happened last Friday (Dec.10), after Mackenzie RCMP noticed a vehicle make a short stop at a home in the community. Police are familiar with the residence and the officer stopped the vehicle once it left the home.
“The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle were arrested and evidence gathered led police to seek and obtain a search warrant for a house in the 90 block of Centennial Drive,” says Cpl. Madonna Saunderson.
“Because of the search warrant, police seized a loaded SKS rifle, three additional long guns, and suspected psilocybin, cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl.”
