Man facing two charges related to August 2020 homicide

PRINCE GEORGE- An arrest has been made in connection to a homicide in Prince George in August 2020. Jason Troy Getty has been charged with one count of Second Degree Murder and one count of Indignity to Human Remains.
On August 1, 2020, the RCMP received a report of a body discovered approximately 40 kilometers east of Prince George. The remains were identified as being 34-year-old Crystal Chambers from Prince George and an autopsy determined that Chambers was the victim of a homicide.
The investigation lead to the arrest of Getty on Friday in Surrey. According to RCMP, he was a previous resident of PG, and was known to Crystal Chambers. Anyone with information is being asked to come forward as the investigation is ongoing.
No further details will be released as the matter is now before the court.
