Cougars sign 2nd round selection Hunter Laing
PRINCE GEORGE – The Prince George Cougars announced 2006-born forward Hunter Laing has signed a Western Hockey League (WHL) Standard Player Agreement.
Laing, 15, was the Cougars’ second-round selection, 33rd overall, in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft earlier this month.
“We’re excited to have Hunter join our organization and we are thrilled to have our top two selections signed,” said Cougars’ General Manager & Head Coach Mark Lamb. “Hunter’s size and style of play is something we wanted to add to our forward depth.”
The Kelowna, BC product leads the Rink Hockey Academy Kelowna’s Under 16 team in scoring with 26 points (12 goals, 14 assists) in 17 games. The 6’6” and 190-pound forward comes from a hockey family, as he is the son of Kelowna Rockets Assistant Coach Quinten Laing.
