PRINCE GEORGE – December 12 will be a day that Sean Boire will never forget. That was the day everything changed.

“We were about four kilometers from home when the accident happened. Just poor road conditions and we started drifting a little bit around a corner and hit some black ice and it sucked us right into the ditch,” explained Boire, who was driving with his kids at the time. “It would have been okay, but, the ditch ended because there was a driveway crossroad like [sic] not even 20 feet after we ended up in the ditch. So, we hit the crossroad and the airbags exploded and the car launched in the air.”

As soon as the car landed Sean knew something was wrong right away as he couldn’t move his legs. However, his main concern was his four kids, who were riding in the back seat. Thankfully, they were okay.

Sean was airlifted to Vancouver immediately and was told that he had crushed his vertebra. The extent of his injuries are still not clear and the prognosis is still unknown.

He will likely be in the hospital for a few months before he is able to come back to Prince George.

Sean’s mother Rebekah Weaver, has created a GoFundMe page, to try and help alleviate financial pressure. Sean is no longer able to work as a general contractor. He has four children to support and will need to create modifications to his home and pay bills.
