A place to play and eat: PG’s newest indoor facility for parents and kids

PRINCE GEORGE—Parents, guardians, and kids now have an indoor facility to play, explore, and eat together in Prince George.

Lil Hoppers Play Cafe had its opening day this week, serving as an indoor playground for children to get the exercise they need. A place that many parents say was desperately needed especially during the winter season.

The place was designed for younger kids between the ages of zero to seven-years-old. But owner Sandy Przysieny says that kids of all ages are welcomed. The mother of two says that Lil Hoppers was a place needed for all parents in the city.

“I just love having an oasis indoors as a place to take my kids to burn off some steam or have that sense of community to meet other moms, or caretakes and their kids.” said Przysieny.

The more than 3,000ft² facility comes with a playground with slides, Legos, jungle gyms, toys, and crawlspaces. There are also two, handcrafted sheds designed as a firehouse and grocery store. Along with that, a cafe is located at the front of the facility so that parents can have full view of their little ones.

The cafe offers hot and cold drinks; baked goods, sandwiches, and soups. The owner says the food is all locally made.

There is also a nursing nook available for moms with newborns who need a space to breastfeed.

“I have breastfed in the most awkward and weird situations; in bathrooms or on the floor, or just where you need to feed your kids. They need to eat. For me, I really wanted to have a comfortable spot for moms to be able to go and to also see if they have other kids to keep an eye on them so they can see through the nursing nook.” said Przysieny.

The facility operates as a playground for kids and parents or guardians must supervise their children at all times. There is not daycare service available.

Lil Hoppers offers membership and drop in pricing. Birthday parties and school events are also available.
