Brennan named WHL Goaltender of the Week
PRINCE GEORGE – The Western Hockey League (WHL) announced today that Prince George Cougars goaltender Tyler Brennan has been named the WHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending Jan. 16, 2022.
Brennan posted a 2-0-0-0 record, 1.97 goals-against average (GAA) and .941 save percentage (SV%) as he led the Cougars to a sweep of the Vancouver Giants over the weekend.
Brennan stopped 37 of 39 shots Friday, in the Cougars 3-2 come from behind overtime win. The 18-year-old then stopped another 27 shots fired his way Saturday, as Prince George earned a 4-2 victory over Vancouver. The Winnipeg, MB product stopped 64 of 68 shots he faced over the weekend.
In 19 games this season, Brennan has posted a 7-11-0-1 record, 3.36 GAA and .901 SV%. He also has two shutouts. Brennan is the top-ranked North American goaltender in NHL Central Scouting’s Midterm Rankings.
