Cougars can’t hang on to lead, fall to Blazers 3-2
PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Cougars held a lead going into the third period in their game Saturday (Jan. 22) but were unable to leave Kamloops with a win.
Trailing 1-0 after the first period, the Cougars took the lead from the Blazers with a power play snipe from Ethan Samson and Cayden Glover finishing off a pass net front from Koehn Ziemmer.
While goaltender Tyler Brennan was excellent throughout the night making 45 saves, the Cougars were peppered with 15 shots in the third period, as the Blazers took the game 3-2.
The Cougars have now dropped two games in a row and fall to 17-19-1-1 in the 2021-22 Western Hockey League (WHL) season, good for 36 points in 38 games, third in the B.C. Division, and sixth in the WHL Western Conference.
