Process to make Dr. Geoff Payne next UNBC President underway

PRINCE GEORGE – After more than two years as the Interim President and Vice-Chancellor at the University of Northern BC, Dr. Geoff Payne is one step closer to having his interim tag removed.

The UNBC Board of Governors unanimously requested the President Search Committee consider a process with Dr. Payne as the single candidate earlier this month.

The Search Committee strongly supported this suggestion and has developed an engagement plan to gather broad input from the UNBC community about Dr. Payne’s leadership and vision.

The feedback will be themed and provided confidentially to the Committee, who will conduct a final interview with Dr. Payne. They will then determine whether to recommend Dr. Payne to the Board as the President of UNBC.

Multiple virtual engagement opportunities will take place between January 31 and February 11 which will be distributed to students, faculty, and others.
