PRINCE GEORGE — If you’re interested in playwriting, Theatre NorthWest (TNW) has a great opportunity for you.

TNW is offering three playwriting courses and a weeklong theatre camp this spring.

Resident artist Julian Legere will be leading all four workshops. Legere came to Prince George two years ago and has been working on various projects with TNW ever since.

Playwriting for Beginners is aimed at adults looking to learn the basics of playwriting. Playwriting for Artists is for artists and writers of any stripe who would like to add to their artistic practice. Both will consist of once-a week classroom-style sessions in the Spring.

Playwriting for Youth is a one-week spring break intensive, followed by ongoing remote mentorship, for participants ages 14-25.

All three “Playwriting” programs will lead participants through writing their own 10-minute plays and seeing them read for a live audience.

Finally, Youth Theatre Camp is a one-week Spring Break intensive where participants will learn the fundamentals of theatre performance while collaborating with Legere on his new adaptation of Jordan Tannahill’s award-winning play rihannaboi95.
