Chetwynd RCMP looking for suspect in bank robbery

CHETWYND, B.C. — RCMP are searching for a suspect involved with a robbery at the Scotiabank in Chetwynd.

Police say a man arrived with a grey duffel bag Friday (Feb. 11) morning and used it to prop the second entrance door open. Surveillance shows the man presenting a carbine-type firearm.

The man allegedly asked the bank teller to fill a camouflage backpack with money. He is described as:

  • About 6-0 tall
  • Caucasian with fair skin
  • Medium build with a belly
  • Wearing dark blue jeans with fading in the front and light-coloured stitching on the back pocket
  • Dark grey or black or dark brown hoodie
  • Black gloves
  • White buff
  • Black beanie type toque
  • Camouflage backpack
  • Grey duffle bag
  • Light grey running shoes with white trim
