Zukowski throws hat into the ring
PRINCE GEORGE – An established downtown business owner has thrown his hat into the ring for Council.
Three years ago, John Zukowski was merely a business man in the downtown. But it was around that time that challenges were arising in the downtown and elsewhere in the community that he says caused him to stand up and pay attention. He says there two platforms he is running on: the downtown and spending at City Hall.
“That’s a problem. Cost overruns. Things have gotten out of control,” he says. “I think with the right people at the table, hopefully me included, we might be able to affect some change in a positive manner. Because if we make changes here [at City Hall], that helps the whole community. Not just the business community, not just the residents, but small business, large business. I mean the potential in Prince George , economically, is phenomenal and we’ve got to grab that. But we also have to address the issues.
The election is set for October 15th.
