Cougars drop second straight to Rockets 3-2
PRINCE GEORGE — Déjà vu for the Prince George Cougars Saturday (Feb. 19) against the Kelowna Rockets.
One night after falling to the Rockets 3-2 at CN Centre, the Cougars once again lost by the same 3-2 score.
Trailing 1-0 after the first period, the Cougars tied it in the second with a Connor Bowie tip on the power play as the net was dislodged. However, the Rockets answered with two goals in the third.
Hudson Thornton’s shot from the point found a through to get the Cougars back within one with 2:29 left in the third, but Prince George couldn’t get one more goal past a sprawling Talyn Boyko in the Kelowna net to send it to overtime. Shots were 38-28 Kelowna.
