Rowan Miller receives scholarship from Alaska-Anchorage Seawolves

PRINCE GEORGE – The Prince George Spruce Kings are excited to announce that forward Rowan Miller (01) has committed to play NCAA Division 1 Hockey at the University of Alaska-Anchorage for the 2022-2023 season.

“I’m extremely excited to receive a scholarship from the University of Alaska-Anchorage. I’ve dreamt of playing division 1 hockey for most of my life,” said Miller. “I’ve had tons of help over the past two years from my teammates and coaches with the Spruce Kings. Coach Al and Lukáš have been very supportive of me and have helped me improve tremendously as a player and a human.”

Miller, a 20-year-old forward who grew up in Scottsdale AZ, before moving to Vancouver Island, is in his second season with the Spruce Kings and fourth season in the BCHL. So far in 2021-22, Miller has scored 20 times, and has collected 18 helpers in 44 games played. In his BCHL career, combined with the Spruce Kings and the Powell River Kings, Miller has suited up in 163 BCHL games, which includes 40 goals and 40 assists in that time. In the 2021 Chilliwack Pod, Miller posted five goals and nine assists in 14 games. Miller was also named the recipient of the Spruce Kings 7th Man Award in 2020-21.

“We are very proud of Rowan and he and his family are very deserving of this achievement.,” said Spruce Kings’ Head Coach Alex Evin. “Since joining the Spruce Kings, Rowan has been a fantastic team player and continually works hard to improve both on and off the ice. He has matured into a tremendous young man, and we wish him success in his future athletic and academic journey at Alaska.”
