PRINCE GEORGE – The Prince George Spruce Kings announced on Tuesday Assistant General Manager and Director of Player Personnel Craig Carter has signed a two-year contract extension.

“I’m very excited to be back in Prince George and continue to build on the past two seasons’ success and I look forward to also helping shape the future,” said Carter in a release made by the Junior A Hockey Club. “I wanted to say a big thank you to Mike Hawes and Alex Evin for their continues trust and belief in me.”

Carter has pieced together a strong resume, which includes being a scout for the Minnesota Wild (NHL), and has spent time in the league with the Burnaby (Coquitlam) Express and the Salmon Arm Silverbacks before joining the Spruce Kings in April of 2020.

“I’m very happy with the job Craig does for our organization,” said General Manager Mike Hawes. “He’s very well connected in the hockey world and also has a keen eye when identifying good young players. He understands fully, our expectation with the type of player and person we recruit into the organization. It is a no brainer for me to re-sign Craig to another contract.”
