PG RCMP still searching for suspect following attempted child luring

PRINCE GEORGE – The Prince George RCMP is currently investigating a possible child-luring attempt that occurred near a local elementary school.

On Friday, March 4, 2022, at 9:00 a.m., the Prince George RCMP received a report of a suspicious vehicle near Loyola Drive and Gladstone Place. The victim reported that a man in a small red and blue car approached her and spoke with her.

The victim did not recognize the driver as someone known to her. The student then ran straight to school and reported the encounter.

Police are actively investigating this report and have followed up with several tips made to RCMP about vehicles matching the suspect car description.

Investigators spoke with the owners of those vehicles and currently have no further suspects. “The young victim had the right instincts in running straight to a trusted adult and reporting this incident. If there is anyone in the area of Loyal Drive and Gladstone Place with surveillance or dash cam video from between 8:00 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. that morning that police have not yet spoken with, we encourage them to call the non-emergency line to speak with investigators,” states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, media spokesperson for the Prince George RCMP.
