New national debt clock touring Canada

A new national debt clock is going to be traveling coast to coast. The Canadian Taxpayer Federation is launching its newest iteration of the national debt clock and mounting it to the side of a truck so it can travel across the country.

The national federal debt is currently more than $1.1 trillion and increases by more than $4,500 every second.

The hope for the CTF is that the visuals of the debt going up in real-time will help Canadians better understand the money being spent.

“It’s hard for most of us to imagine a trillion-dollar debt, but we know what it’s like to watch a bill going up in real-time and that’s exactly what the Debt Clock shows Canadians,” said Franco Terrazzano, Federal Director of the CTF.
