RCMP arrest suspect accused of stealing four vehicles

DAWSON CREEK – RCMP responded to a series of calls on the morning of March 11 in Dawson Creek and surrounding areas.
Police identified four vehicles that were successfully stolen with an attempted fifth theft interrupted by the vehicle owner. After successfully recovering all the stolen vehicles officers arrested one suspect believed to be responsible for all the thefts.
The vehicles were stolen from a mix of rural properties, residences and industrial areas. RCMP is calling these all “crimes of opportunity”. Of the four vehicles stolen three had keys stored in the vehicle, the fifth vehicle was left running when the suspect attempted to steal the vehicle but was interrupted by the owner.
RCMP is reminding residents of the area to store keys outside of the vehicle, take all valuables when leaving the vehicle, turn your vehicle off and take your keys with you when leaving the vehicle.
