PRINCE GEORGE – Heather Rogers hails from Calgary.

However, at the World Women’s Curling Championships, she isn’t wearing the maple leaf on any of her clothing. While she is wearing red and white, it’s not for Canada. Instead, it’s for Team Denmark.

Ahead of the 2021 World Women’s Curling Championships in the Calgary bubble, the Danish team didn’t have a lot of funding. With the restrictions in place due to COVID, they were looking for a Calgarian coach to make it easier.

In came Rogers.

The 30-year-old said that’s where it all started, continuing ahead to coach for the team in Beijing at the Olympics and now in Prince George.

While Denmark is in a 40-year drought of not winning the tournament, Rogers believes her team is accepting of her positive demeanour as they look to establish themselves among the world’s top teams.
