Cougars shut out Royals, lose series 4-2

PRINCE GEORGE — In the final of six straight head-to-head battles played over three weekends, the Prince George Cougars shut out the Victoria Royals 3-0. The Royals won the series 4-2.

The Cougars started out with a shorthanded goal from Craig Armstrong halfway through the first period.

Riley Heidt took advantage of a loose puck and made it 2-0.

Just into the second period, Armstrong swiped the puck and assisted a goal from Blake Eastman.

And the rest of the game was quiet, with no scoring from either team. The final score was 3-0.

Prince George is at 21-35-2-1 and is good for 45 points in 59 games. The Cougars have a matinee game next in Vancouver Sunday (March 27) at 4 p.m.
