KELOWNA — The Prince George Cougars got blown out on the road by the Kelowna Rockets Friday (April 1).

The Cougars opened the scoring with Jonas Brøndberg’s first point of the season 90 seconds into the game.

But the Rockets attacked hard for the rest of the period starting with a goal from Andrew Cristall.

Adam Kydd made it 2-1 with help from Pavel Novak at five minutes in.

Tyson Fiest scored on the power play, and so did Cristall a few minutes later.

In the second, Rocket Scott Cousins scored with an assist from Cristall.

PG’s Carter MacAdams made it 5-2 a minute later.

But Rocket Jake Lee scored on the power play with help from Colton Dach and Pavel Novak next.

Kelowna got two more quickly and the Cats decided to pull goaltender Tyler Brennan. His replacement Ty Young held off the tide pretty well, only faltering when there was five minutes left in the game and Elias Carmichael made the final score 9-2.

The Prince George Cougars stand at 20-37-4-1 and are good for 47 points in 62 games. Next up, they have a matinee game Sunday (April 3) against the Kamloops Blazers at home.
