BURNS LAKE—A Burns Lake woman was shot Sunday morning and taken to hospital.

On Sunday, April 3, 2022, shortly after 11:00 a.m., officers were called to a home on the 2500 block of Freeport Road where it was reported that someone had been shot. When officers arrived they found an adult woman suffering from an apparent gunshot wound and was taken to hospital by BC Emergency Health Services.

“While the investigation is a priority for the Burns Lake Detachment, and police work to gather evidence, we would like to speak to anyone who may have information regarding this,” said S/Sgt Shaunna Lewis, NCO i/c Burns Lake RCMP.

RCMP believes that everyone involved are known to each other and there is no greater risk to the community.
