PRINCE GEORGE — One man was arrested following a drug bust April 1.

Prince George RCMP say it happened after their Downtown Safety Unit, with the assistance of the Street Crew Unit and frontline officers, executed a search warrant at a home on the 1900-block of Upland Street.

“Inside the house, Downtown Safety Unit officers located a quantity of suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl, as well as various types of prescription pills,” says Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.

“Police seized a loaded firearm, various weapons, as well as items related to drug trafficking and over $2,000 in cash.”

She says the man who was arrested was released pending results of the full investigation.

RCMP say while conducting their investigation, they recognized that the majority of people visiting the home were people occupying the downtown core.

“This residence was likely being used to supply illicit drugs to those who live and frequent the area,” adds Cooper.
