Prince George Community Foundation launches Ukraine Humanitarian Support Fund

PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Community Foundation in partnership with Share Hope announced today its launching of the Ukraine Humanitarian Support Fund.

The Foundation will be hosting a fundraising event on May 7, 2022, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and all of the proceeds from the event will be going directly to the fund. The event will take place at the Coast Inn of the North and will feature guest speakers, music, a silent auction, performances from Method Dance Society and the opportunity to support a worthy cause.

“Share Hope is really on the ground with the families getting things in place, so that we can support them the best way we can,” said Mindy Stroet, Director of Development, Prince George Community Foundation

The Ukraine Humanitarian Support Fund will directly help families fleeing the war in Ukraine that come to Prince George. Money raised will be used for housing, food, clothing training programs and anything else needed to help the families settle.

“These families are in great need. We just want to help as many families as we can, not just a few,” said Eva Gillis, chairperson, Share Hope.
