PRINCE GEORGE—Passenger numbers at Prince George Airport continue to climb in 2022.

YXS saw more than 68,000 passengers pass through its gates in the first three months of 2022, 27,500 of those in March alone. The World Women’s Curling Championships taking place had a positive effect on traffic in the airport.

Service is expected to continue to grow with major airlines like WestJet and Air Canada both increasing frequencies this summer and Flair Airlines introducing the seasonal non-stop flight to Tucson.

“We understand that the rules surrounding COVID change quickly and that knowing the difference between Provincial and Federal regulations can be confusing,” says Duke. “Having an answering service helps to ensure customers are getting the answers they need in a timely manner.”

Farmhouse Catering has started renovating the old restaurant space and will be ready to open later this year. The possibility of a cannabis store opening in the airport is also currently in the air as it is still working its way through the regulatory process.

The Prince George Airport Authority would like to remind the public that masks are still required at all times in the airport and Federal proof of vaccination is still required to fly.
