PRINCE GEORGE – After making custom pins for pet owners and custom engravings for gifts, Carol Hansson recently decided to shift her focus to making pins for a good cause.

Hansson, owner of ‘As You Wish Custom Stamped Designs’ started making pins to support Ukraine donating $10 from every ‘I Support Ukraine’ pin made.

“I’ve gotten a lot of support from the various Rotary clubs and locally from the community as well,” said Hansson. “I’m at over $1600 [as of Wednesday afternoon] which is enough for one and a half shelter boxes so I’m very excited.”

In just a few weeks Hansson has raised over $1600 smashing her initial goal of $1200.

The money raised is going towards Shelterbox. The organization has teams working with disaster-hit families around the world, offering emergency shelter and other essential items to support them in rebuilding their lives.

One ShelterBox which is valued around $1200 includes a large tent, blankets, lights and a water filter for clean water, among other things.

The home-based business has been buzzing with orders from Prince George, across Northern BC, and even one from the UK.

If you’re interested in ordering a pin, you can reach out through Hansson’s website.
