Downtown fire causes 1 million in damages

PRINCE GEORGE — Update: PG Fire Rescue says the fire downtown on 3rd Avenue this morning resulted in $1 million in damages.

Assistant Chief Dan Pears confirms it broke out at approximately 4 a.m. with firefighters able to contain the blaze to the one business. He says the business is a total loss. No one was injured.

He says the other  fire at a 4-plex on the 2100 block of Quince Street led to $500,000 in damages. Pears says the crews were also able to contain the fire to the building originally on fire with very limited crews. No injuries were reported at this fire either.

Earlier: Prince George Fire Rescue are busy battling a pair of fires this morning.

One of those fires broke out at around 4 a.m. this morning on the 1100 block of Third Avenue. Smoke can be scene billowing out of the roof of a business.

No word on what caused it or if anyone was inside.

First responders remain on scene. There’s also a structure fire on the 2100 block of Quince Street.

That fire appeared to start this morning though again, a cause has not been released.
