Cops for Cancer cruise into training ahead of Tour De North

PRINCE GEORGE – The training for all 22 cyclists taking part in the 2022 edition of the Cops for Cancer Tour De North began on Friday.

The big ride in September will take them all the way from Dawson Creek to Williams Lake for a cause.

This year’s goal is to raise over $145k for kids with cancer, in past years breaking the $100k mark but never raising what they hope to do in the 21st year of the event.

Two Prince George cyclists are taking part as Stacey Osiowy and Robert Warren take part in the 640+ kilometre ride.

Osiowy said she is fundraising for a relative who lost their life to leukemia at a young age after being in BC Children’s Hospital for seven months a few years ago.

For Warren the ride is near and dear to his heart as well, noting taking part was a great honour for an even better cause.

Cops for Cancer began in 1997 with one police officer who wanted to make a difference. Today, it has grown into an incredible movement across the country that’s changing the lives of children with cancer.
