Jim Good receives provincial award for conservation work
PRINCE GEORGE — A Prince George man received an award from the B.C. government for his conservation work at the Goodsir Nature Park north of Prince George.
Jim Good was among 20 people who were awarded a 2022 Community Award from the BC Achievement Foundation at a ceremony in Victoria on Tuesday (May 10).
“This year’s Community Award recipients have supported their communities during exceptionally difficult times and are an inspiration to us all,” says Premier John Horgan in a press release. “They have dedicated their time and energy to helping their friends and neighbours, and British Columbia is a better province because of them.”
Good funded and built the hobby nature park himself. A junior forest warden in the ’60s and ’70s, Good purchased the land in 1987 and began sourcing the specimens himself. The park spans 160 acres and features botanical species from across the country.
